What You Missed By Not Listening to Days of the New

So everyone knows about Days of the New, right?

Oh, forget all of a sudden?

They ruled the airwaves back in ‘97 with singles like “Touch, Peel, and Stand“, “Shelf In the Room“, and the cooler single “The Downtown“.

Sing along with me.

Bring me down, bring me dow-wown–yeah–ah, bring me dow-wown;

What probably NObody knows is that this band is more than meets the eye. Nobody realizes that the band is really one man.

Now listen - the band is not one man.

Rather, it’s one man’s band.

Watch the third youtube vid. The one where he actually plays his guitar.

Travis Meeks is the creative force behind DOTN. After the first album (we’ve already mentioned the singles), most of the world forgot about him. Unless you were smart enough to pick up his second and third albums.

Let’s start the vacation off with this first track off of Days of the New III: Hang on to This

    He fired every member after the first record from my understanding.

    I also heard that he had a bad meth habit.

    Drug habit, yes indeed. So do a lot of people, especially musicians.

    Not sure how the band brokeup, though I know there was a lot of conflict between Meeks and the band. The original lineup left to form the band Tantric, and to be honest I’m glad they did - Meeks doesn’t need them. Meeks followed up with two more albums that are really kick ass, bringing in different musicians on each (including a female backup singer on the second for many tracks and sounds awesome). Just found out a DOTN compilation comes out next week actually, and word on the street is that a new album should drop this year.

    Check out their MySpace page where Travis has put some new stuff up and discusses his recent activity.

    BTW Travis if you’re reading this, your website looks like it hasn’t been updated since ‘97 and needs a makeover. Let me be in charge PLEASE I promise it’ll kick butt. Love DOTN III
