Soundgarden - Blow Up The Outside World
“Blow Up The Outside World” was the third single from Soundgarden’s final album, 1996’s Down on the Upside.
This song may have been played out, but it still kicks you in the face, like most of Soundgarden’s songs. It’s perfect to blast when you’re having one of those days where just want to tell everybody off, although “Ty Cobb” from Down on the Upside is equally good at accomplishing this.
Besides the fitting music, Cornell delivers some of my favorite lyrics like “Nothing seems to kill me, no matter how hard I try” and “Someone tried to tell me something, Don’t let the world bring you down”. Good stuff.
The band made a crazy video for “Blow Up The Outside”, which was directed by Devo founding member and bassist Gerry Casale.
Oh yeah, here’s a little interview with Cornell about the song and what he would blow up.
