Sonic Youth: Porn, Short Film and a Tour

It looks like the members of Sonic Youth are going to have a busy year. Here’s what’s going down…
- Thurston Moore will be lending his musical talents for a porn flick by writing the score. The film entitled Extra Action (And Extra Hardcore)will be released on DVD on March 18 and was directed by Richard Kern, who has previously directed several Sonic Youth videos. Fans shouldn’t worry too much though, several musicians have lent their skills to the music Porn movies including Presidents of the United States of America frontman Chris Ballew.
- Meanwhile, Kim Gordonwill be featured in an upcoming short film based on a short story by Miranda July. There’s not much info besides that, but it is supposed to begin shooting later this month and will also feature Ok Go member Damien Kulash. If you don’t think Gordon can act then perhaps you should check out her performance on the Gilmore Girls.
- Finally, the band will be heading to Australia and New Zealand this February and will play their 1988 classic album, Daydream Nation, in it’s entirety. For more info go here. Here’s the current tour dates:
