Hmm, this sounds good. Real good.

This isn’t the first time that Rage has popped up during a major political party’s convention. Back in 2000 they crashed the Democratic National Convention in L.A., which ended in the police setting off some tear gas.

In related news, on September 1 at St. Paul’s Harriet Island, Rage guitarist Tom Morello will join country/rocker Steve Earle at a union rally. This happens to be the first day of the RNC. So, it looks like folks in the Minneapolis area going to get a lot of Rage Against The Machine in September.

Here’s a rough video of “Killing in the Name” from this past weekend’s Lollapalooza.

Post from: Smells Like Alternative

2 Weeks Left of Smells Like Alternative

Random

I thought yesterday was my last day here at b5, but last night I got an e-mail (which I didn’t read until this morning since I was at the Springsteen concert at Giants Stadium) that informed me that I’m here until August 14. I don’t know if I’ll pick it up, but if you want a review wait for Scott over at The Rock Dose to deliver one.

Here’s an acoustic, live performance of the first single “Stand”.

Nine Inch Nails are releasing the previous free download album The Slip into stores today. I liked the album when I first heard it, but I haven’t listened to it enough to give you a breakdown. It seems like a standard NIN album, so folks shouldn’t be disappointed. So, if you didn’t take advantage of the free download, then defiantly pick this album up.

Listen to “Discipline”, which was the first single type thing from The Slip.

Beck is releasing his wonderful new album Modern Guilt on vinyl today. So, if you live near a record shop then swing by and snag a copy. I know I’ll be hunting down a copy of Beck’s recent work.

Enjoy the video for Beck’s groovy single “Gamma Ray”.

Post from: Smells Like Alternative

Liz Phair Adds Three East Coast Dates

Random

Liz Phair has already hit New York, Chicago and San Fran in support of the 15th Anniversary reissue of her breakthrough album Exit From Guyville.
