Alice in Chains – Over Now

Alice in Chains – Over Now

Well this is my last post here at b5, so this is an utterly fitting song.
“Over Now” is the last track from Alice in Chains last studio album, which was their self-titled 1995 release. The track also appears on the band’s Unplugged performance and the compilation The Essential Alice in Chains.
Despite “Over Now” never being released as a single, it still charted on the Billboard rock charts.
A very cool and eerie tune, that seemed to foreshadow the end of one of Seattle’s finest.
Remember to visit Evolvor if you want to keep up with 90’s alt rock.

Perry Farrell Talks Lollapalooza and Jane’s Addiction Reunion

Perry Farrell Talks Lollapalooza and Jane’s Addiction Reunion

On the eve of this year’s Lollapalooza, Perry Farrell (the frontman from Jane’s Addiction, Porno For Pyros and Satellite Party), sat down with Rolling Stone to discuss the festival and the possibility of a Jane’s Addiction reunion.
Farrell basically told RS that Lollapalooza is getting “bigger and wider”. He’s also amazed that four of the headliners are not signed to a label, this would include Radiohead, NIN and Rage Against The Machine. Farrell also shares some info about a new part of Lollapalooza this year which is a dance tent where folks can “listen to club culture music, but also …read more

New Chris Cornell Album Coming This Fall

Chris Cornell will drop his third solo album this fall, with an exact date yet to be announced.
The former Soundgarden and Audioslave frontman teamed up with producer Timbaland for the new album, which is entitled Scream. And here’s what he had to say about it: “Tim lent a lot to what I describe as sort of the psychedelic aspect of this album, kind of a Pink Floyd or Dark Side of the Moon or almost like a Queen Night at the Opera type of a feel to me. That’s something I never would have predicted. You know, I …read more

The Canadian band reportedly have 16 or 17 tracks ready for the new album and began work on the new album in February of 2007. The guys should be getting back to work on the new album anytime now.
On July 5 guitarist Steve Mazur left a post on the band’s MySpace page that stated: “Many songs are finished, we’re just writing more now `cause we’re having a good time doing it [...] so we figure why not just keep going until we feel that we’re …read more

The Foos will be releasing a greatest hits compilation this November, and that’s all the info we have for now.
The package will most likely look something like this: “I’ll Stick Around”, “Big Me”, “Everlong”, “Monkey Wrench”, “My Hero”, “Learn to Fly”, “Breakout”, “All My Life”, “Times Like These”, “Best of You”, “DOA”, “No Way Back”, “The Pretender”, “Long Road To Ruin” and hopefully some non-album tracks like “Baker Street”, “The One”, and/or “Darling Niki”.

Pearl Jam – The Real Me

Pearl Jam – The Real Me

I seriously hope that no one missed Pearl Jam’s performance at the Vh1 Rocks Honor: The Who.
While all the performers were good, Pearl Jam, as usual, stole the show. Heck, they even outperformed their idols The Who on that night.
Pearl Jam once again proves that their the best around with their rendition of “The Real Me”, from The Who’s 1973 masterpiece Quadrophenia. My boys absolutely tear this song up. I can’t stop listening to it!
As you watch this, check out the smooth bass skills by one Jeff Ament, he really stole this performance from the other guys.
