FYI: Eddie Vedder

Unfortunately, May is almost over, which means less Pearl Jam. So, let’s end this month with a final FYI about them.
Now, back in September I did an FYI on Pearl Jam’s frontman. But instead of just reposting it, I’ve decided to clean it up and expand it. So, here’s the brand spanking new FYI on Eddie Vedder.

Eddie’s birth name is Edward Louis Severson III and is originally from Evanston, IL.
At age 7, Eddie appeared in a Chuckles candy ad. Don’t believe me? See for yourself.
At age 12 he received his first guitar.
By the mid 80’s Vedder began recording demos …read more

There is no doubt in my mind that Pearl Jam is hands down the greatest American rock band…ever.

Now the band would probably never actually say that they were the greatest American band, but I think deep down inside they know it’s true. So, I am now going to give you the five reasons that make Pearl Jam the greatest American rock band, besides the actual music, which doesn’t need to be defended.
Also, please actually read the reasons before throwing out bands like Aerosmith or Guns ‘n’ Roses, cause they …read more

Nine Inch Nails – The Perfect Drug

Nine Inch Nails – The Perfect Drug

“The Perfect Drug” has been on my mind for some time now. But, since I played it on Rock Band over the weekend I just can’t get it out of my head now.
The track was written for the 1997 David Lynch flick Lost Highway, which starred Bill Pullman and Patricia Arquette. “The Perfect Drug”, as an audio release, has only appeared on the soundtrack to Lost Highway in North America. It did, however, have it’s own EP, known as Halo 11, which contained remixes of the song. It has also appeared on the 1999 3-disc single for “We’re In …read more

Pearl Jam Daughter tags

Pearl Jam Daughter tags

Many of you should know that “Daughter” appeared on Pearl Jam’s second album Vs. in 1993, which was obviously a big hit for the band.
The studio version is still great after all these years, but what’s really catchy about “Daughter” are the live versions. This is where the band likes to jam out during the end of the song by fusing some other song into it, which is known as the “Daughter tag”.
This began during the band’s Saturday Night Live Performance on April 16, 1994 when they paid tribute to Kurt Cobain (who had died just over a week before …read more

I would assume that this includes some huge markets like New York City and the band’s hometown of Chicago.
Seriously?

Eddie Vedder – Hard Sun

Eddie Vedder – Hard Sun

As I watched Into The Wild last night, I was once again reminded of the beautiful soundtrack by one Eddie Vedder.
I actually put aside the soundtrack to Into The Wild for some time, but now I’m going back to it full blast.
It’s perfect timing. As the weather warms up, the sun beating down on the Earth and the road looking ever so tempting. So naturally “Hard Sun” has been sticking out the most.
I know “Hard Sun” has been played out a bit, but it should be mentioned that yesterday was a cold and rainy day, but this morning I woke …read more
