Counting Crows Saturday Nights and Sunday Mornings/Mini-Tour

It’s been just under five years since Counting Crows have released a new studio album, but come this Tuesday, March 25, fans can bask in a 2 disc release.

Saturday Nights and Sunday Mornings is going to be a concept type album. The first disc, Saturday Nights, is about partying and then losing yourself into the darkness of the nightlife. Sunday Mornings is about waking up and realizing that probably some bad stuff happened the night before. The band even had different producers on the 2-discs, with Gil Norton (who produced the Foo Fighters’ Colour and the Shape and Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace) working on disc one and Brian Deck (Modest Mouse, Iron & Wine) producing disc two.

To help support the album the band will be stopping by some Apple Stores in the next couple of weeks.

Here are the appearances:

Thursday March 27, 7 p.m. – New York, NY – Apple Store, SoHo
Thursday, April 3, 4 p.m. – Los Angeles, CA – Apple Store, The Grove
Sunday, April 6, 4 p.m. – San Francisco, CA – Apple Store, San Francisco
Wednesday, April 9, 6 p.m. – Chicago, IL – Apple Store, North Michigan Avenue

From there the band will be embarking on a European tour. You can find more info on the band’s official site.

Here’s a live performance of “You Can’t Count On Me”.

Word, i dig this. They are giving away a few tracks on their site. The first album is really hard rocky for the CC, which is awesome, with the second being the more traditional panty wetter stuff. I haven’t given a rats ass about CC since August (when we were f@% 11), but I’m gonna pick this up.
