Foo Fighters Snag Four Grammy Nominations

Foo Fighters Snag Four Grammy Nominations

I’m not a big fan of big awards; but I was pleased to see that the Foo Fighters are getting respect for their latest release, Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace (which is just an awesome album, and I do believe that it’s their best).
The Foos have been nominated for some pretty big awards, such as Record of the Year (for “The Pretender”) and Album of the Year.
Dave Grohl and company are also nominated for Best Rock Album and Best Rock Song, again for “The Pretender”.

Pearl Jam – Someday At Christmas

Pearl Jam – Someday At Christmas

I’m a sucker for Christmas and Pearl Jam, so it’s only fitting that I would love this cover.
“Someday At Christmas” has been previously performed by The Jackson 5 and Stevie Wonder. Pearl Jam’s version appeared on their 2004 Christmas Single; which members of the 10 Club receive annually.
“Someday At Christmas” was already a classic, but having Pearl Jam put their spin on it is just awesome.
Honestly, I can’t stop listening to it.
Give it a listen from here.
Also, thanks to this site for providing the pic.

Green Day Hitting The Studio in January

Green Day Hitting The Studio in January

Apparently, Green Day will be recording the follow-up to 2004’s American Idiot in January.
Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong told Rolling Stone in October that the band has already written around 45 songs for the new album; and I can’t wait to hear them, it’s already been over three years since American Idiot !
As of now, there is no release date, but stay tuned when more info is announced.

The video for Radiohead’s “Jigsaw Falling Into Place” is now up on YouTube, which was taken from the band’s November 9 webcast.
“Jigsaw Falling Into Place” is the first single from the much talked about album In Rainbows, which will get a physical release on January 1.

Vineland Music Festival

Vineland Music Festival

South Jersey is buzzing with the huge announcement of the Vineland Music Festival.
Word on the street was that Philly was going to get it’s own festival; but the city didn’t pass it, so Vineland received the honor instead.
The three day event will take place on August 8-10, 2008 and will be brought to us by Festival Republic (who puts on the legendary Leeds and Reading Festivals) and C3 (who do Lollapalooza and the Austin City Limits Festival). Needless to say, we’re in good company.
I can’t wait to see the line up, but I’m betting that it will be a good one. …read more
