Oh The Guilt

Once again I refuse to socialize and am left out of another list by fellow b5er’s. But, I’m still gonna join the fun.

This time everyone thought it would be a great idea to open up and share their guilty pleasures. Check out what they had to list here.

So, here are my top ten guilty pleasures. Now I will seclude myself in a very dark room to hide from the shame.

10. Matthew Sweet – “Girlfriend”: I actually like Matthew Sweet, but this is pop rock at it’s best. You can’t help but feel a little silly when rocking out to this.

9. Jewel – “You Were Meant For Me”: Yeah, this is just sappy, but in a good way.

8. Michael Jackson – “The Man In The Mirror”: I’ve always dug this tune and I proudly sing along in the car when it comes.

7. Toto – “Africa”: I think Scrubs made me enjoy this song again.

6. Lionel Richie - “Hello”: This is just a classic.

5. Barry Manilow - “I Write The Songs”: Well, he does.

4. Damn Yankees – “High Enough”: Reminds me of my childhood and all the cheese that came out from this era.

3. Chris Isaak – “Wicked Game”: I think it’s because the video was so cool.

2. Journey – “Don’t Stop Believing”: I dare you to not sing along with this at a bar with a group of friends. It’s always amusing.

1. Lisa Loeb – “Stay”: What can I say, I just love Lisa Loeb. She’s so cute.

Matthew Sweet – “Girlfriend”! No way. I was so close to putting this on my list. That’s crazy. It wasn’t from the 70s though. But I was looking at my CDs and thinking, “I can’t believe I own this.” You are like the boy me. In fact except for the Jackson song (egad) and the Manilow tune I wouldn’t turn any of these off (that’s so sad). I agree about the Damn Yankees song — that pretty much sums up the horrid part of that musical era. But in a nice memories way.

Lol, that’s funny. I figured that on this list I would step out of the 90’s a bit.

As for Michael Jackson, he’s just a guilty pleasure in general for me, and Barry Manilow too.
