FYI:Toadies

The Toadies may have disbanded, but it’s still cool to give them a shout out. Afterall, I still jam out to “Possum Kingdom” when it comes on.

The Toadies formed in 1989 in Ft. Worth, Texas; consisting mainly of Todd Lewis (vocals, guitar) and Lisa Umbarger (bass).
Lisa Umbarger was able to buy her first bass with […]

The Brothers Gallagher will release “Lord Don’t Slow Me Down” on October 21.
The song is the title track from the band’s upcoming DVD of their 2005/2006 world tour of the same name. Noel Gallagher has stated that the song is “somewhat predictably it’s brillant”.
The track will be available here and will also feature live versions of ”Don’t […]

Screaming Trees - Shadow of the Season

“Shadow of the Season” is from the Screaming Trees’ 1992 album, Sweet Oblivion.
It’s a killer a song from one of Seattle’s forgotten bands. Gary Lee Conner’s guitar sounds like something that would influence Queens of the Stone Age, there’s fantastic drumming from Barrett Martin and Mark Lanegan’s husky voice make this song a one of […]

Foo Fighters - Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace

The evolution of the Foo Fighters discography has been an interesting one.
The band’s self-titled debut featured only Dave Grohl, in an attempt to establish himself as a new force in the music world. The band’s follow up, The Colour and the Shape became an instant classic. Their third album, There Is Nothing Left To Lose, was […]

Smashing Pumpkins Add More Tour Dates

As previously posted back in August, Billy Corgan and Co. are currently on the road promoting Zeitgeist. However, they’ve added some dates since then.
Among the new dates are an additional show in Philly, as well as stops in Athens, GA, Greensboro, NC, Columbia, SC, and festival appearances in New Orleans and Miami.

FYI: Foo Fighters, part deux

I did an FYI on the Foos back in July, but there’s always more info to share. Bedsides, the band is going to have a big couple of weeks following the release of Echoes, Silence, Patience, and Grace (which comes out on 9/25, but you can listen to the stream right now!). They’ll also be on the […]

Tonic - Open Up Your Eyes

“Open Up Your Eyes” was the first single from Tonic’s 1996 debut, Lemon Parade.
It did pretty well on the charts, but not as well as their most known single “If You Could Only See”. “Open Up Your Eyes” is just a cool song all around, a bit louder than “If You Could Only See”, but not Soundgarden […]
